i am trying to switch to a 78 kjet from the 82 system with the constant idle control computer etc. my question is can i do this? will the car run without the computer if i just use the 78 computer? i see that i can use the wires that go to the frequency valve,etc. then i was hoping to use the wires from the 78 to hook up the cold start injector, 78 idle valve, 78 warm up reg.etc. Are there any wires that i will need to keep from the 82 system to have the car operate? It looks like the older system does not use the coolant temperature sensor or have a throttle switch like the 82. i am hoping this will work since the car will either run before friday or it is being towed by the city. i cant afford the parts for the 82 to keep it running and i have the good 78 system. thanks for the help as always.

The kjet is really a very different design. you will not be able to use the newer style of injectors, becuase they opertae on a different method. The 82 LH is not the same.Even though it has constant idle.

You have to change everything over.
