1987 745t fogs question

While perusing my favorite pick n pull this week I came up with SOME parts for my 745t fog lights(mine are totally missing) What I got was the pair of plastic bumper mounted brackets, the plastic fog light bodies and wiring but NO lenses. In looking through the IPD catalog it appears that the only parts I will need to add are the lenses with built in reflectors, the front trim or faceplate that secures the lens to the plastic fog light body and of course the bulbs. Does this sound correct or am I missing a piece or two? Any info much appreciated.

Dan

p.s. those brackets were a pain in the ass to remove...maybe will install easier with the nose of the car up on ramps

1987 745t fogs question

Dan,

First off I am surprized that you found intact brackets, they break easily. There is a housing that hold the bulb via 2 plastic holders with screws. The light itself is a Bosch part with a separate bulb that insert into the back and clips.

I have no idea on a source for you parts. Is your air dam intact also?

1987 745t fogs question

Hi Art,
Yes, my air dam is fine. These brackets are in fine shape as are the plastic housing for the fogs that I also got from the p n' p. Ipd has parts for these in the full RWD catalog...i'm guessing all I need are the lens/reflector, face piece that holds the lenses to the housing and the bulbs. I'm gonna scour the yards a wee bit more b/4 paying new prices and shipping.

Dan
