How to take apart the flame trap housing on a 960...? 900

Just checked my Flame Trap and cannot figure out how to take the thing apart to get to the flame trap itself.....the housing came from the hose easily and has a small hole on one side through which I can see the trap....I cannot figure out how to take this thing apart...can anybody help ? One side of the housing is approx. 2 inches in diameter with a small hole in the middle, the other side has two outlets. It came off the air intake hose easily and there was no "bajonet" like "lock" as some mentioned on this board. HELP !

Grab it up firmly and twist it about 1/8th of a turn towards the passenger side and withdraw it from the hole.

How to take apart the flame trap housing on a 960...? 900

Tom:
I can pull out the whole trap housing from the hose without a problem - the problem I have is that I don't know how to take the housing apart to get to the flame trap plastic piece to replace it with a new one...I had 740, 940 and the housing looked a lot diffrent - this one is a lot bigger and you cannot really see the plastic piece like on the 740/940...the housing has a small hole in it through which i can see the plastic trap piece, so I know I have the right thing, but I don't know how to open it...I can take a picture of the housing if it would help...
THANKS !

The housing is made of 2 separate plastic pieces. One should be clamped in the air intake hose. The other is clamped in the flame trap hose. 1 plastic piece fits inside the other with a snap and a click.

Beware, this part is probably brittle and old. It may break.
