The windshield on my 1980 242 is leaking in the usual places(bottom corners). It's not too bad yet but I know the damage that can cause. Anyway, I've read in the archives that all 240 windshields are interchangeable. I would like to go with the newer "encapsulated" (as one person put it) windshield. I think they were used on the 90's 240's. Has anyone had experience with this exchange? Thank you,

Yes, it's a straightforward swap. The new glass comes with integral trim, and is usually available, installed, for less than $200. And often MUCH less than $200. I paid $135 last time. I prefer the later model (91-93) glass.

If you take the car to a glass shop, they might not be familiar with the swap. You can just tell them to treat it like a 1993 240.
