Wind Noise 200 1984

My kids finally remarked that the 84 wagon has noticeable wind noise inside... hadnt paid much attention, but they are right.

Any good sources out there for new door seals?

Thanks

Wind Noise - doors for sure? 200 1984

Frequently the windshield trim loosens off a bit and the wind flowing underneath creates a sound not unlike a hippopotamus playing the oboe. Before you replace door seals confirm that the seals are indeed the culprit.

Wind Noise 200 1984

Hi Robert!

I am probably posting the obvious but your least expensive choice would be to purchase door seals from a wrecker.I believe that from the 1989 model year Volvo installed a secondary seal around the window frame to fill in the space between the body and the door.I have installed them on my 1981 245 and the make a very noticeable improvement. You might want to look into the updated windshield moulding (late 80's) that also cuts down on wind noise. I have heard that the drip mouldings that the pre '86 turbos (GLTs as well?)had will smooth the airflow where they run down along each side of the windshield. They only came as a black trim. I hope this helps you out.
