Does anyone know where I can get a center arm rest with cup holder?

Last summer I bought a Husco center armrest for my '92 240.

I had a mixed reaction to it. Overall, was OK. Sturdy unit, mounts well, looks pretty good. IMO looks much better than the factory unit that mounts with the two vertical metal straps--always thought that was a pretty inelegant solution.

Unfortunately, however, the cup holder is very flimsy. The slide out part with the two holes for the cups is thin plastic, and it mounts rather loosely in its track; combining these two points, the cup holder sags significantly when you have a beverage in the front hole (the one that sticks out farthest from the body of the armrest). It really only works well with the cup holder extended halfway, with just one hole showing, and one beverage in it. Sort of defeats the purpose of having two holes.

I suppose I could try to shim it to make the slide part fit better, but for the
$$ it costs I shouldn't have to.

If you buy one, be careful in mounting it. Unit has an interior brace made of aluminum, and the lower back edge of the brace can cut wires that come out of the console and lay across the tranny hump. Probably will need to trim the back by 1/4" or so, at least I did.

I just got one for my 240. Seems really well made. I am enjoying it VERY much. As someone else noted, they aren't cheap. I was clever enough to request one as a birthday present.

hope this helps,
Chris

Compared to the $70 Husco option, an original armrest might be worth considering. Don't know about american price or availability but they still were available here (Sweden) when I checked a few months ago. Part no 9192 855, includes cup holders, unfortunately only in black nowadays.

Sometimes you can find these rather rare pieces at Ebay too. Older versions don't include the cup holders, though.

Try Husco.com.
They make combination center armrests/cupholders for many cars including the 700 and 200 series Volvos. Tried the bring up the site just now, but it seemed to be having difficulties. From what I remember, they make them in the standard Volvo interior colors, and the 200 one costs more than the 700. They are not inexpensive, but multiplied out over the life of the car and how many times you use it, it could make it a good purchase!

When I do not have something mechanical that I need to get attended to, I plan to get one!
