I just bought a used 240 from Virginia. The A/C and/or blower motor (same??) make a faint squecking noise, gets louder and softer as the A/C runs. The car has had its A/C system upgraded and the squeaks are only heard inside the car, through the vents. So I don't suspect A/C components. It squeaks faintly with just the heater too.

So far it's just a bit annoying, but I'm wondering if it is possible to do some preventative maintanance to prevent the motor from seezing up, as I have read how "fun" they are to repair.

Just how squeaky is it?

$108.00 plus shipping will get you a fan/switch/resistor kit from IPD and then you and your car can have some private time (took me 10 hours (including a heater valve change) the first time.......perhaps only 8 hours this time (my daughter totaled the last one) now that I know what I'm doing).

Yep- it's yer heater blower motor.Mine's been squeaking for 6 months now, and it hasn't crapped out yet.Sometimes it helps to bang on the dash-it makes it less squeaky.You might wanna replace it before winter returns, though. no heat in the cold sucks.Good luck!
