SRS light on when ignition key sticks too far to the right... 700 1990

My 1990 740 Turbo's SRS light comes on and the radio won't work sometimes when i start the car. The ignition keys seems to get stuck a little to far to the right and if i notch the key a little back to the left without turning the car off...the SRS light goes off and the radio works again.

Has anyone else experienced this ?

Thanks

My 91 745T has the same behavior and I assume it is a worn ignition switch. I believe I read here that having a heavy key ring aggravates the problem.

I experienced the same thing with my '91 740...better replace your keys and/or ignition switch guys before it damage your starter like mine. I ended up replacing my starter because occasionally, I can hear a grinding sound when i turn on my ignition and this is so due to my key sticking which in turn does not allow the starter to disengage even though the fly wheel already cranked up.
