Heh... haven't posted on here in a long time... I will be suprised if any of you know me... I'm Gabo... better known for spillin rice all over my volvo (see pics of my old 83' 242Ti)




I crashed that car and fixed it and then blew the engine after converting to 5 speed.. boy that was a fun car.. i went through a couple more cars after that (read about all that stuff on my website that hasn't been updated in 2 years.

As fate would have it some bitch in a 2001 Buick Lesabre ran into the rear drivers side of my 87' Toyota Camary going about 60mph that I had purchased for $500 (This car had worked for about a year... a new record for any car that I've owned or driven for a long period of time.. I tend to run cars into the ground on a regular basis). Well my car was royally f***ed or as her insurance company said "totalled". Up until yesterday I was cruisin around in a 2002 chrystler seebring that her insurance company was paying for.. which was fun as hell becuase I purchased the extra insurance on it so I could roll the car off a cliff and I only have to pay $12.95 ;)

Seeing as my toyota got toyotalled her insurance company made me an offer of $2,364.06 for my car... I called them back and complained that since I could not open the doors on my drivers side I could not take apart the dash and get out my speakers (these speakers were some little pioneers that I had purchased at best buy for $19.99 as an open item for my silver 244 turbo which was the first car I ever owned.. they made their way from the silver 244 to the black 242ti to my 67 stang to my 87 camary... and boy were they beat to hell). So they offered me $100 for my speakers... which i reluctantly accepted.... haha

Maybe I should explain about my 87' Camary some more.. I bought this car for $500 about a year ago. It had 173,000 miles on it and was just a car for me to keep for a couple months until I saved some cash for something I wanted. I put over 10,000 miles on this car and I had only changed the oil once (when I first bought the car). I also blew a tire and got a crappy little $30 tire at pep boys. So maintinence on this car for a year brought me to right about $50.. hahah 1 oil change and a new tire. It had an oil leak so I'd just add a quart every couple of weeks. Actually when the car would start overheating (which meant all the WATER [why waste money on antifreeze when it was just gonna leak out anyway?] in the cooling system evaporated or leaked out then I knew it was time to add another quart of oil. Also someone had shot my car 7 times... either with a .22 from a distace or with a high powered pellet or bb gun.. haven't figured out which but I think my friends a**hole neighbors who's house I'd always park in front of shot it... My stereo was ghetto fabulous too... my friend gave me a cd player that had the volume buttons had broken off.. so I used a car alarm remote and some cable i had laying around and you pressed lock or unlock to turn the music up or down. I already went over my front speakers.. as for the back I used some speakers from one of those all in one stereo systems for your house.. i just had the speakers sitting in the back seat. This car was 100% GHETTO... But I cleaned out the car and vaccumed it and took the speakers out of the back seat and the face of my cd deck before the insurance people had a chance to come out and look at it. I was contimplating going to pepboys and buying those retarded bullet hole stickers to put over my real bullet holes so the insurance company wouldn't know my car actually had holes in it and try to give me less money but i never got around to it. So I made about $2000 off that car and it lasted way longer than it should have with me behind the wheel (took that car up to 110 and even drove it from austin to houston and back once).

Now i'm sittin here with all this money and no car.. well tomorrow I may be back to broke but pimpin something nice. I'm lookin at gettin a this bad boy

but of course I'd have to give it the Gabo touch so it should be lookin like this within a month or so

hehehe.. yeah same old Gabo right?

Seeing as I make money now I'm thinkin about doing this car good and proper if I get it. Eventually I'd like to put a supercharged v8 in it to replace that 6 cylinder poor excuse for an engine that they came with. Unfortunately this one has a rebuilt engine and I'm going to run it off mobil 1 so I might have to wait a while before I get a good excuse to throw a big bad v8 in there. I may also put a volvo turbo engine in there but I'm not gonna even think about it until I get the car. So anyway there is a chance that you might be seeing more of me around these parts again and those of you that don't remember me cuz I was before your time will get to know me.

Its basically gonna be a buncha pictures of hot ass car model hoes that I ran through photoshop and cut out everything but them and did a few custom touches to (like the IPD shirt). All you have to to is download it and resize it and paste tha hoe with yer ride... then you too can feel like a pimp... lol

Spinnin records, fixing pac man machines, and girls girls girls girls.... hehe life is pretty good and fixin ta be a lot better with a bertone in mah life... i was going to get a 94' Lincoln Mark VIII with a muave/pearl coat on some chrome 18"s but im couldn't get a brick outta my mind.

Immediate Changes (gonna start doing these as soon as my wallet recovers)

The wheels in the after pic are the exact wheels I am looking at buying. I also want to lower it. They are Tecnomagnesio Sport 17X7 in gold. I know its gonna be a bitch trying to fit even 17" on that car.. I really want some 18" but we will see. I may get some bit balla shinny chrome wheels too.. either way its gonna have bad ass wheels with some lo-pros.

Modify the grille like I did on my 242 so it will be a wire mesh grille...

A bad ass system, at LEAST 1 screen possibly 2 or even 3 (for the back seats), dvd/mp3 player, tv tuner, etc.. all that good stuff.. Starting with the stereo and subs and eventually work my way into the screens and the unnecessary stuff that imma get anyway cuz a player ride needs playa goodies.

I'm going to reclaim my strut tower braces from my mom's 245 (i put them on there after I killed my 242) and just about every suspension upgrade out there for my car.. ipd turbo swaybars, lower chasis brace (I may end up rigging something cus they look like some metal bars to me.. why pay $70 for them?)... see if i can track down that nick choy character and get some of his performance end links. pollyurethane bushings. All this stuff I am going to have to do a little research on becuase this car was cursed with a damn v6 so i'm not sure if everything can fit in its current form.. thats not to say that i won't MAKE it fit.

I think volvo honestly made a deal with the devil when they made the bertone coupes.

Clear lights.. the front corners are incredibly simple to do and don't cost ya nuthin to mod but the rear tailight assembly is gonna require someone like me to come up with some crazy ass idea fer them to be clear. Possibly even fit an assembly from a different type of car...

I'm going to try and get a hold of a front bumper for an 850 and slap that bitch on it (an old volvo friend of mine Patrick did that do his 245 and it looks sweet.)

Some sort of body kit and rear spoiler.. maybe gank a spoiler from an 850t or something.

I'm going to have to do the dual exhaust mod that I did on my 242ti but since this is a v6 I may actually do true dual. gutted cats of course.

Far off mods:

Shave the door handles and repaint the car red or black or maybe even a pearl coat.. this is a wayz off because the car was recently repainted

put a big bad v8 in there.. i need to research this more because this is one thing that I am not too familiar with. Its gonna be chevy though and it will be built up. I'm thinkin a fuel injected 350 with a supercharger. I'm also investigating a 32v northstar engine outta a caddy. This is very far away from being done but it is something I'd eventually like to do. Can't have a dope ass lookin car thats slower than a stock 240 cuz of all the extra weight from all the girls that are gonna be in the pimp ride to be.. lol


There is a ton of other stuff I am plannin on doing to this car but first things first.. I need to go get it.. in about 12 hours I will be departing Austin headed towards bertone ownership. I'll let ya'll know whuts up... you might see a few more after pics later tonight if I get bored. unfortunately I only have 1 picture of the car to work with.

17s are easy with just the stock 20mm offset. 18s will fit too. 225/40 on an 18x8 will fit on a lowered 240 with some fender lip cutting on the rear, and the correct offset (about ET15 front, about ET12 rear). Here's the 242GT with 18" wheels.

I'm not sure where to buy these now, but here's what the clear rear turn signals look like. They used to be sold by hova.com in the form of complete taillight assemblies, but I don't think they carry them anymore.

I've also seen full clear lights on a 244 that were custom made. I'll find the pic and post it later.

I always forget that he's got 18" wheels. However, his tires are only 215/40, and his wheels are only 7.5" wide. Wider and taller tires can fit on either 17" or 18" wheels. If anyone wanted to, 215/35/19 could fit on a 240.

I think Dave's wheels are the nicest non-Volvo wheels I've seen on a 240. Most people just settle for TSW or Borbet.

Sure.. they'd prolly just sit around the house.. I offered them to my mom cuz she was bitching about how I gave her bent wheels or something. I was fixin ta smack her cuz the wheels she got were the wheels off my black 242 which are dope wheels and they are pretty expensive and they had good tires on them. They have been on her car for the past 2 years and recently one of them went out and like a woman she drove to the gas station instead of just stoppin on a side street. As anyone who is remotely familiar with the turbo wheels will tell ya.. they are soft and bend easily.. when ya drive on them with a flat your gonna f**k it up. Come in here bitchin bout you gave me wheels that were bent.. i'm like bitch I gave you a $400 pair of wheel WITH yokohoma's and a dunlop sport tires on them for free.. i'll gladly give ya the bertone wheels for my old turbo rims and go get them fixed and make some money... blah blah blah no i just got new tired on them.. well QUIT BITCHIN... haha she wants a new car when there aint nothing wrong with her car. If she would have driven one of the volvo turbos I owned she's understand what a messed up car is all about.

But yeah to answer your question.. YES

It will be a month or so before I get the cash for new wheels and tires though.

it depends on the condition of the tires... but dirt cheap either way... also might consider a trade fer some cool volvo stuff.

Good to see you back. This place could use some excitement... see what you can do to spice up opinions, too, would you? it's been slow for a while.
