Steps to remove intake manifold? 200 1985

Hi,

I will like to find out what are the steps to remove the intake manifold? Do I need to drain any fluid? What else do I need to do/change after I remove the intake manifold? What other parts do I need other than a new gasket? Didn't want to get stuck somewhere realizing that I'm missing parts here and there.

Thanks
Tzer

If you just want to change the gasket, there is no reason to completely remove the manifold. Remove the nuts holding the intake to the head and pull the manifold back to provide clearence for removing and installing the gasket. You may have to disconnect a few other items, but it is not nearly as hard as completely removing the entire manifold. If you need to remove the manifold you don't have to drain any fluids. Just pay close attention to where everything is attached before you disconnect it from the manifold, and don't disconnect anything that you don't have to.

Thank you. I just need to move the intake manifold a little to have more clearance to change the engine harness.
