960 Moon Roof Problem 900 1994

Okay, here is another problem that I have not been able to resolve, the moon roof on my car works well except for the wind guard that pops up while it is open. Here is the problem the moon roof works great except for pulling down the wind guard when the panel is closing. I have tried many times to straighten pieces that I thought were bent, this includes the feet that hold up the bars that connect with springs the rest of the mechanisms in the roof, as well as those bars. The entire operation works well until I try and close the sunroof while the car is at highway speeds. Then it will not pull the wind guard down far enough and both the wind guard and the sunroof panel collide while trying to close them. If anyone has any information I would be glad to hear it.

Solution to 960 Moon Roof Problem 900 1994

I played around last night a got my moon roof to work. It has nothing to do with the headliner. I’m sure during it’s removal I bent the wind bar. Under the fabric of the moon roof there are two points minor adjustment can be made. However, I found the wind bar to really do the trick. If you look at the picture you can see where I had my hand. I simply bent the outer tips up on both sides. When the roof comes forward now, it hits the push-down arms sooner, hence leaving clearance to close properly. In my case I had run the roof up against the wind bar dozens of times. Of course it hits first in the center bowing the wind bar. So I would just bend up the ends a little at a time until desired results have been noted. I hope this helps. Let me know how it comes out.

960 Moon Roof Problem 900 1994

I have had the same problem with my 940T. It only started to do that when I took the headliner out. To date I'm waiting on new material for the repairs. I assume that when the repaired headline is reinstalled it would go away. There are some clips that are associated with the headliner. As mentioned, I have looked at mine and everthing seems fine. I would like to keep in touch with you on this. If I find the solution while reinstalling mine, I would let you know.

I know it changed the day I took out the headliner without a doubt. I know it does not seem logical, but who knows.
