I think I am going to have to sell 200 1988

Good and Bad, I got my acceptance letter to college today, but I don't think the brick(88 245DL) can go with me. It has a few things that need to be fixed i.e. tie rods, tires, fuel pump relay, exhaust, and the a/c. Plus the odometer shows 199,544 it does have the 2nd engine and trans in it though. As much as I hate too I am going to have to sell it and get something a little newer and more dependable to make the 100 mile round trip each day. If anybody is interested let me know I have pics that I will send I have put some money in the car but I need something a little newer. I am asking $2000 but will take offers, anybody interested please let me know. monettajoshua18@cs.com is my e-mail. Thanks Josh.

What happened to the original engine? They usually last longer than 200K.

The fuel pump relay can be resoldered. A cat-back exhaust can be purchased online for under $200 IIRC. Tires-normal wear 'n tear. Tie rods an easy DIY repair, although you will need an alignment.

All in all, I'd bet that you could fix the cars existing problems (sans A/C) for not more than a few hundred USD, if that. And if the engine and trans have already been replaced, the car should be reliable for many miles to come.....

Just something to consider.

That would be fine but I wish I could just find a good, honest, up-front volvo mechanic who could tell me what needs to be done and/if it is worth putting the money into. I would happily buy another one with maybe less miles and a couple years newer.

For many reason I suggest you keep the Brick and move closer to college !

no offense, but if you get $2000 for that car you should skip college and go straight into sales!

Well thats just a number right now at this point I would probably take 1500 to use as maybe a small down payment on something else.
