New front shocks on Amazon wagon 120-130

I'm rebuilding my front end on my Amazon, and installing new shocks as well. Does anyone know how tight to make the upper and lower nuts? My shocks have the post top and bottom, if that helps. The shocks didn't specify a torque value, but I don't want to overtighten, or have them rattling around.

Thanks!
john

Well, as it was explained to me, the nuts just have to be tight enough to ensure the rubber bush never loses contact with either the A-arm or the uper mount in the crossmember. So use your judgement, but I'd think any torque values would be best expressed in inch-pounds.

Usually the instructions tell you to tighten the nut until the bushing has been compressed enough that it is the same diameter as the washers.

Yeah, the instructions with the ST swaybar said 120-130

"Compress bushing so that it bulges, but do not compress it so much that it is permanently deformed or cut".
Useful, eh?
I usually compress 'em as far as Jim, and everything's fine. A locknut on the end is a good idea, if they didn't come with one already. I usually reuse the nut off the old shocks...
