rear signal 200 1989

Where does the ground wire from the rear left (drivers side) signal light go?
I can't get the blinker to blink. Checked bulb, switched sockets, cleaned contacts but still just get fast front signal only.

No problem, I figured I better ask. I know the sedan better. The ground for
the tailights should be a wire coming off the printed circuit vinyl and attached
to a screw in edge of the rear panel. Once you take the plastic cover off the
tailight you should see the ground wires screwed down there. The right side of
the car has two wires grounded there and the left side one. If your lights
are screwed up it could be where the wiring harness attaches to the light. The contacts on the printed circuit card get burnt or corroded. The vinyl printed ciruit card is available separately for $20 from newandusedvolvoparts.com as well as FCP Groton and other board advertisers.

Some corrosion killing contact spray like Wurth Contact DL is good for cleaning
the contacts on the vinyl and not being abrasive to it. Make sure the light bulbs are matched from side to side that way the bulb out light on the dash will work. Hope this helps you.

Thanks Dave, It is the wire harness. I messed around with it and got all working but as soon as "Maggie" hits a bump they'll be messed up again. I'll get a new circuit board ASAP. My 17 yr old daughter drives it and her arm is tired of doing the hand signal thing.
Thanks for the help.
Mike
