Aftermarket lights and power source 1978

I recently installed a set of Cibie 7" round headlights and am currently using the stock wattage bulbs. I plan on upgrading the wiring to the lights using relays so that I can run higher wattage bulbs without worrying about frying the wiring; but I'm not sure where I should get the power from: the alternator, or the battery. If I get the power from the alternator, which contact point do I use, the one with the red wire? So, has anyone upgraded their wiring harness for the lights, and if so where did you get the power from?

The neatest way to pick up power is from the junction box on the driver's side just ahead of the strut tower. It's flat, about an inch square and you can see some heavy wires running to it. There should be a few spare lugs to attach a standard push on connector.
