Another in a series of dumb questions...'

to get a diagram of my electrical system.

LH-jetronic 2.4 multiport fuel injection system ( MFI )
( B 200 F/G, B 230 F/FB/FD/G ), or the

Regina multiport fuel injection system ( MFI )
( B 230 F ), or the

EZ 116 K Distributor ignition ( DI ) system
( B 200 F/G, B 230 F/FB/FD/G ) ??

Guess I can rule out the REX-I Distributor ignition ( DI ) system
( B 230 F )

Any tips appreciated.

Why would you rule out the REX? My 193 940 uses REX. BTW, it works just fine, with 161k on the clock.

The easiest way to identify if you have the REX system is the unusual coil configuration and it's location. It is a square box that looks like a transformer, and mounts to a bracket on the shock tower. It is easy to identify because the coil wire connects to it, and runs off to the distributor cap behind the cylinder cam shaft.

Nothing wrong with the REX, that's for sure. I ruled it out because I didn't think I recognized those components.

These are such great cars...and so easy to work on.

What does your coil look like? A round cylinder, then Bosch. An item that looks like a transformer on drivers side, Rex Regina. Also, look at your fuel injectors and it should have Bosch symbol on each. Does it have an air mass meter? If so, Bosch---name should be on it.

Yup, I got the Rex/Regina! Hard to diagnose at first...the Bosch name is all over the engine compartment.

By the way, where IS the legendary Air Mass Meter?

regina rex doesn't use a MAF, it uses a manifold pres. sensor and an intake air temp sensor to calculate engine load

On a Bosch system, it is right afer the air filter box, same diameter as the intake air hose and approx 3-4 inches long. On your system there is just a small plug in electronic sensor is approx. the same place.
