Haha... the one that goes at the back of the engine is harder to change. The key for getting the heater hoses off is a long (very long) screwdriver. That way you can pry the heater hose off of the outlet at the head (under the manifold) and also maneuver the hose clamp from on top, with only your hand holding it from the bottom. The firewall is pretty easy; not much there to make it harder.
IF you have a problem not being able to get the hoses off (unlikely) you can either razor blade them off or use a vice grips. Don't bust the bypass pipe that goes under the exhaust manifold while you take the hose off--hold it with a good pliers while you extract the hose from the end.
Seriously, if you're innovative and have a good tool assortment, you should be able to get them out and re-installed in no time.
Also, Conti belts are fine. Those, Roulunds (Rofan), and Gates are ones that I like. Anyway, I use generic heater hose lengths when I can get away with it. In the case of the 240 you can usually bend the generic lengths pretty well, or get the non-kinking variety. For $8, however, you can hardly go wrong for a molded hose.
