I am going to be installing a Crane 700 and a Crane S60 coil, in the instructions it says I need to use a ballast resister for the S60 coil. Can I use the resister on the firewall (porcelan?) that is connected to the current coil? If I have to use a different ballast resister what would I do with the wires on the existing ballast?

I just installed a pertronix unit in my B21A. I used the existing ballast resistor and all worked out great. Best $100 I ever spent. I chose not to change the coil.

This is a pretty high output coil, it is going on my 71 164. Does anyone know about the wires going to the ballast on the firewall? Also the distributor has 2 outlets for carbs? I am pretty electricaly challenged.
