Strange Vacuum Line Under Hood 700 1987

I have this strange vacuum line (I guess) under the hood. It is a grey stiff plastic tube with a black rubber tube on the end and something that looks like a strap. While swapping the wiring harness this weekend I disconnected another grey stiff tube that was connected to a "T" fitting, in-line between the intake manifold and the aux vacuum pump. So as I see it I have two vac lines going into the fire wall at the middle. I guess they both go to the climate system. I reconnected the vac hose to the "T" fitting, but I am still baffled where the other line goes. I know it isn't the boost gauge line or the cruise control line. They go through the firewall on the driver's side of the engine compartment. Any ideas?

The stiff line coupled to the rubber end with strap is most likely connected to your heater control valve.

If you mean the heater valve, it has one hose in and one out from the firewall. On the valve itself is a small metal hose which the other plastic and rubber is attatched to.

        good luck
