How to check brake drum wear ?

Is it possible to check all aspects of drum wear, for example if the drum is still round ?

Anyone who works on brakes should be able to determine if a drum is out of round. A good machine shop can check a drum as well.

The thickness and inside diameter of the drum can be measured. If the drum is too worn, these measurements will be out of their acceptable range.
