Suspension-motor mounts? 700 1985

Would bad motor mounts affect the front end suspension so that you would notice-
and what's the simplest way to check them?

Thank you,

Bob Hanbury

    Umm no.
If the engine vibrates at idle, making the whole car shake, and it seems to clear up at moderate throttle (1500-2500 rpm) in neutral, then motor mounts are shot.
The rear one you can see easily whether it's trashed- the trans will be sagged down close to the crossmember, maybe even metal-to-metal.
That could make clunky noises that could sound like front suspension. While it's jacked up, have someone wiggle the steering wheel, and get under and check for ball joint, tie rod, and bushing looseness.
    Good luck!
