Engine surges, really notice while stoped at red lights, it tries to push you through the light, then the engine dies (sometimes) and very hard to start. Ususally if you wait a few minutes it starts OK. Changed the fuel filter, but thinking this is electical problem or air intake. HELP, wife wants to sell it. thanks

Sounds as though the idle motor maybe needs cleaning. Your wife must be surrounded with new stuff! "Car needs new sparkplugs, better buy a new one..."

Not at all. She does not feel she can depend on it. It's a 95 940 non turbo. I noticed a cracked plug wire, but don't think it is related to the surging problem. I read today about a rear temp sensor on a 960 as a sourec of a relatedd problem. Any other suggestions out there? thanks, much
