differences in CBV from '86 to '87 700

I've got an '86 745Ti w/ a Mitsu turbo. I've noticed that the Air inlet hose from the Air Mass to the Turbo is different between the two years, the '86 having a small hose going to the compressor bypass valve, while the'87 doesn't have this. I'd like to relocate this component or even make an electrically actuated equivalent and was wondering what else was different in this area between the '86 and '87. Is there a benefit to the new arrangement and is it possible to convert my '86 to the later style hose routing? Thanks!

differences in CBV from '86 to '87 700

The 1986 model year 700 series turbo cars only came with Garrett turbocharger, which have an external CBV.

If you car has a Mitsubishi turbo, it is from a 1987 or later car. All Mitsubishi turbos (used on the 700 series Volvos) use a CBV which is integral to the turbocharger, and is mounted on the discharge outlet of the turbo
