Wheres this wire go??? 200 1982

Actually, I have a couple. First I have a green wire w/ a plastic covered spade connector thats is not part of the main harness but comes out by the brake booster thats long enough to reach the starter. Wheres that one go?

I also have a red one thats only about 4" long that is in the same area.

Oh, the vac connections for the sender below the intake? What hooks up where on that?

Thanks in advance guys/gals!

Wrong vac hookup 200 1982

Sorry ,the vac line for distrubitor doesn't tee off the thermo sw. The distrubitor vac. line comes off the little hose from throtle body. If you have the Bentley Man. it's on page 253-15 this shows vac. hook up for thermal vac. valve. Charlie

Thermal Vac. Valve 200 1982

No Matt its not an opion, its part of the Lambda-Sond System.Which provides electronic control of the air/fuel mixture. This allows for proper operation of the catalytic converter and reduced exhaust emissions. On non-turbo's the Lambda-sond system is fully intergrate into the LH fuel injection system. On turbo's the Lambda-sond sys.is essentially independent of the CI fuel injection sys., although it acts witin the injection sys. to modify fuel presure. Took this out of Bently Manual,I hope you don't think I new all this!!! Charlie

Wrong vac hookup 200 1982

was the thermal vacuum valve an option to be hooked up, or for turbos or something, I guess by the name, it only allows a vacuum to be drawn at or above a certain temperature???? what exactly is the purpose, I'm curious, I might post again on this subject.

Matt

Is your car running OK, there are test points and also I THINK a remote starter lead in that area. So there are some wires that shouldnt be connected to anything. There are three conenctions on the starter, Brown wire, (female spade), blue/green wire, (female spade) and obviously the large Ga wires to the battery and alternator. If the car runs fine dont worry about it!

"Oh, the vac connections for the sender below the intake? What hooks up where on that?"

Huh??

Oh, forgot to mention that I replaced rebuilt the motor. Has a brand new harness in it.

So it sounds like I've got everything hooked up right then!

OK, the sender I was talking about is a blue plastic one in the cylinder head, next to the T-stat under the intake! Has 2 ports.

oh, that thing, I've been wondering what that was myself, Mine is not connected to anything either. I just replaced my wiring harness and while I did that I replaced every vacuum line, there did not seem to be anything missing, There havent been any lines connected to that thing for 3 years and my baby runs real smooth!

take care!
