IPD matching color paint - any good?

I want to start tackling the rust on my beige brick next year and noticed that ipd sells paint in a can that matches the Volvo paint codes. Has anybody used this stuff? Is it any good? I don't want to repaint the entire car - just the sections where I plan to remove the rust. Any other advice on how I can do this myself? This would be my first attempt to do any kind of DYI bodywork.

Thanks much.

IPD matching color paint - any good? 700 1989

Mike- I started the rust battle years ago and found that the paint shop listed in the FAQs section does a good job. They ask for the paint code on the ID plate and then match it. A nice thing about these people is that if the paint they send you does not match, just tell them why and they will send you another bottle, adjusted for the problem. I think their kit comes with clearcoat, syringes and most everything you need for scratches to full blown patches.
If the FAQs does not list the company let me know and I will look for receipt or pack. in garage. Good Luck.

Suggestion: Make sure you fix the rusted metal for good finish and prime the metal a few times before painting.

I've seen the POR-15 starter kit in ipd's catalog but haven't noticed a starter kit for the paint stuff. Guess I need to look again.

I'm not confident in tackling this job on my own, but I'd rather take a chance than again pay a body shop hundreds of dollars to repair rust that comes back in a few years.

I don't think I've read the paint section on ipd's Web site. I'll take a look. Thanks for the info.
