In the past 3000 miles I have had to put 3 fuel pumps on my 244. I now have to put a 4th pump in. What's the problem?

What year? Which of the 2 pumps? What are the failure symptoms? How are you diagnosing that it is a pump failure? This is not usual.

fuel system been replaced stem to stern. acid washed tank - cleaned out lines - rebuilt fuel distributer - new jets - and so on...

pump gets noisy soon there after it quits. Currently getting noisy and hesitating. Thanks for the help. [Bernie and his Brick]

Maybe the in-tank prepump is bad and is causing undue stress on the main pump? Why have you changed the fuel pump? Did it quit all together? What were the symptoms?

I have changed the fuel filter also.
