Still looking for 1987 244DL Cruise Control help. 200

Hey there me again. I am still looking for any info on swapping a Cruise Control unit I got from a 1985 244GL into my 1987 244DL. I got 100% of the parts that go with the system. But, I think the 85 unit might be too old for my 87 needs. When I looked at the post from before, the wiring for cars older than the 87 is different. Do I need to get a newer (87 or higher) Servo and control (black box)??? where would the blue wire and grey wire run to on the 85 unit? The dash was gone when I pulled the CC parts from the car. Where does the Servo mount to??
Thanx for any help.

The biggest difference in the two cars is the speedometer. 1985 has the cable driven variety, and 1986 plus have the electric sensor system. The CC has to be different at least in that part.

The 1986 and on are not shown in the Volvo Wiring Diagram manuals, but the 1985 is. It shows the servo over by the windshield wiper motor, and on my 86 the servo is under the dash attached to the gas pedal.

My 1986 has a black box under the dash with a 14pin connector, a special brake light switch, another thing I can't see, and a big something in the engine bay under the windshield wiper motor. The system is sensitive to deceleration, and can be kicked in at 30mph.

Maybe some parts are compatible, but I am afraid I don't know which.

Good Luck,

Bob
