Still looking for 1987 244DL Cruise Control help. 200

The biggest difference in the two cars is the speedometer. 1985 has the cable driven variety, and 1986 plus have the electric sensor system. The CC has to be different at least in that part.

The 1986 and on are not shown in the Volvo Wiring Diagram manuals, but the 1985 is. It shows the servo over by the windshield wiper motor, and on my 86 the servo is under the dash attached to the gas pedal.

My 1986 has a black box under the dash with a 14pin connector, a special brake light switch, another thing I can't see, and a big something in the engine bay under the windshield wiper motor. The system is sensitive to deceleration, and can be kicked in at 30mph.

Maybe some parts are compatible, but I am afraid I don't know which.
