Refurbishing OD solenoid 200

The solenoid I just removed on my 1992 DL looks great; no cracked wires etc.and I would like to save it if I could. I realize I need to test the ohms (13?) to see if it's electrical in nature but if it's mechanical is there a method other than using carb cleaner in the ports for fixing it?

According to Bentley, with the solenoid in your hand and disconnected, you should cover the oil passages between the o-rings, and blow through the hole on the end of the solenoid. The valve should be tight, and no air should pass through. With it energized with 12 volts, you not be able to blow air through with the same holes uncovered. It says also to check for blocked passages and damaged o-rings. Hope this helps.
