Still desperately seeking 1993 black 240 sedan with low miles 200 1993

I have been looking for the elusive black 1993 240 with low miles. I have had some leads from the board but nothing so far that panned out. I just missed one in fredricksburg VA. that had 56000 miles on it, makes me sick to think about it. Anyway, I have been checking autotrader.com, and cars.com, with no luck. There are black ones, but most with over 100000 miles on them. I realize that this is not excess. mileage, but why not go for the lowest miles possible? I also realize that I am severely narrowing my search by looking for a black one, but I think that they looked the best.It is amazing how many people have 240's on cars.com with no mileage or the color listed. Those are the two most saked questions when buying a car.Obviously, the reason I am looking for a 1993 is because that was the last year they were made, the newer the better, but I would probably take a low miles 1992. Any suggestions?

There's one on ebay #2402316689. Sounds nice, but has 117,000 miles. Might be worth a look. Time capsule cars are hard find. Good luck!

You've probably already seen this one. It looks black in the picture. No mileage given.

Why are you concerned about low mileage? Actually, low mileage can be riskier in some respects. More risk of odometer fraud is one. Another is that the effects of sloppy maintenance habits are not as obvious -- it is a lot more obvious whether maintenance was careful or sloppy with a 200000 mile car than with a 50000 mile car. Also, very low mileage cars may have been used mostly in the city (more severe use than highway mileage), or sat for long periods of time without being driven, or maintained.

Also, do you have any flexibility with respect to color?

I understand that Revolvstore in Arizona (?) will pretty much build you what you want. I am seriously considering that option myself. As I understand it, they will part out Volvos, sandblast the paint parts back to the metal, rebuild engines/trannies, install new turbos, and do whatever else you are willing to pay for. From talkng with the guys there, I figured on $10-11k for the car you are describing, but, what you would get would be a completely refurbished car. Or so they say. To me, that would be a good value for the money. However, my big hold up is that I really do not know anything about those guys except for their add in Rolling Magazine. They are also an "official" ipd swaybar installer. You can visit the website at . Anybody done business with Revolvstore??

Why don't you at least consider one of a different color to expand your chances to find one and then paint it black if you really must have black?

why such low mileage? 200 1993

I can understand getting low mileage is good but you will pay out the nose for it. I bet a 93 240 with 55k on it goes for around 6k or more. I bought my 93 wagon which usually goes for more than the sedans for $3,800 from the original owner and it has 128k on it. And it is a true Texas/Arkansas car. Sure it has more miles but 2,200 in savings from a 6k car would take care of ALOT of repairs if ever needed. Unless you are a collector and are going to keep the car stored in winter or just hardly drive it don't waste your money in my opinion.
