Is there a reasonable place to buy light bulbs?

I just bought 1 instrument panel light bulb, 1 bulb for the shift indicator and 1 blue bulb for the seat heater switches from the dealer. The bill was $8 and some change. I have tried Auto Zone and Advance and they don't carry these bulbs. Is there any source for these bulbs other than a dealer? I went to the junkyard and all these bulbs were burnt out or gone.

Is there a reasonable place to buy light bulbs?

The little bulbs that are in the switches, seat heater, fog light, rear demist, etc. are sometimes called "grain of wheat" bulbs. I gave up on fussing about with them burning out, and bought 10 or 15 from my dealer. Not cheap but dang convenient. They reside now in BGVPD.

Also, on some cars - I think - ALL the warning light spots on the instrument cluster have bulbs behind them, whether or not they're used. So,if your car, e.g., has the AW70/1 trans, the green OD indicator is not used, but the bulb is in there. I have swapped some of those without removing the cluster. Wear goggles.

When you cruise a recycle yard, after having found the part that brought you there, find some bulbs, switches, relays, fuses, etc, also. Be sure to make them with the donor car's model/engine/year, etc.

Good Luck,

Bob

you can buy the shift indicator bulbs and seat heater switch bulbs from autozone just fine. they're not blue, but just take some blue markers or dye and color them yourself.

the instrument panel bulb i believe you can get from fcpgroton i believe, give them a ring. are you talking about the bulbs that go behind your dash to light up stuff like Check Engine and Service and the High Beam indictors, or are you talking about the bulbs that light up the switches like for Defog/frost and Antenna up/down?

if you're talking about behind the instrument cluster itself (check engine/service), there are two different kinds of bulbs for that. one has the fixture itself attached, and the other kind doesn't.

if you're talking about behind the switches (defog/frost) then you can get those from autozone as well.

The autozone bulbs sort of fit and will light up, but they are bigger in both size and wattage and these are the sole cause of melted switches (seat heater, rear defog, ect.) I would never use these bulbs again.
