what to get from salvage car? 200 1979

A friend called today and said that he would be getting rid of his '79 245. What (if any) parts would be worth salvaging to use on our '81 244? If I remember correctly, I should be able to use the hood and get the "flat hood" style at least.

Thanks,
Jeff

You can grab the hood, and you'd need the lights and grille too if you want to make yours into a flat hood. I'd grab the hood hinges as well, since they have a tendency to bind and break on all these cars.
If the car has any interesting options, such as cruise control or power mirrors, they would be worth getting. MAybe winter floor trays if it has them. Good mudflaps are hard to find, and they keep your quarter panels intact so they'er a good thing. You'll have to evaluate the condition of your interior pieces and see if any are better- it's all pretty easy to take out.
