Rear shock replacement 700 1991

I am replacing rear springs on my wgn (drooping rear). Does anyone have a test for shock integrity w/o pulling them? FAQ was pretty subjective. There is no apparent leakage. I don't know how old shocks are? Ideas, experiences?

There isn't any. When I suspected my Bilsteins, I sent them back and they tested them, agreeing that they had lost damping capacity. They then sent me new ones. There is no objective on-the-car test for shocks.

What made you suspect your shocks?
