I am considering a used BMW to join my '89 780. Have enjoyed the Brickboard for 4 years, and will continue to benefit from it as I keep the Volvo, and continue DIY repairs as time, skill, and tools allow. I am looking for a similar mesage board for BMW, but yet to find anyting to compare. All suggestions are welcome.
regards,
Mark

Thanks to all for responding. I agree nothing compares to the Brickboard for no nonsense information. As long as I keep the 780 I will contimue to look here for answers.

Best regards to all,

Mark Duval

I have found nothing comparable to the Brickboard for BMWs. Supposedly, if you join the BMW Car Club of America at http://www.bmwcca.org/ for $35.00/year you will have access to a comprehensive technical forum. Also Mr. Richard Nott in Australia maintains an FAQ website at http://member.rivernet.com.au/btaylor/technical.html which I have found quite useful. But it's not nearly as comprehensive as the 700/900 FAQ. Good luck with your "Ultimate Driving Machine"

Regards,

Yes, try the roadfly forums, or if you get an E30 (84-91 3er) try http://www.e30forum.net/ I have enjoyed that one very much. HTH

You could also try www.bimmerfest.com Mostly a lot of talk about newer models, but depends what you get.

I used to have a 1980 528i for my "fun" car - it was awesome. If you get a 5-series from the 80's (either an E12 or an E28 model), you could check out a site called www.firstfives.org. Great site for older 5 series (and they can probably point you to other BMW sites that are specific to your model.

Good luck - BMW's are fantastic and drive like nothing else.

Wow, this should be in opinions... at least once you get me going.

I haven't found any car website out there that gets close to what Jarrod has put together here, and combined with the near-rabid devotional input I see on this board daily, I don't think there is one.

That said- I like BMWs too. My parts guy won't let me buy one- probably because he sees me sinking all this cash into my Volvos and he doesn't have the heart to see me get involved with anything worse. But that's his opinion.

the best bimmer forum i've found so far (since my parents own a 94 525i) would be www.bimmer.org which redirects to www.roadfly.org i believe.

no offense to them but it really is nothing compared to the brickboard forum. the company present here is top notch.

Try Roadfly.com. Not nearly as good as the BB, but its ok.

I bought an 86 BMW 635 CSI for my stable (to satisfy the need for speed when the Bricks seem like bricks).

I recommend this model...great looking and affordable.

Good Luck,
Chris
