where to find 679885? 140-160 1973

These are trim moulding clips.

I can get them from Veteran Produkter or GCP.

Both are in Sweden.

Anybody know where to find them in the states?

Geez... I havn't looked for a while, but I would think the dealer should still carry them... Heck, didn't they use those up to about '80 or '81?

I used to just go to the dealer and get 'em by the handful. When you do find 'em, get some extras. You are likely to break about 1/3 of them when you install 'em.

Are these the ones that fit in a 1/4" hole and you drive a pin in to lock
them in place? I found a few in an auto supply store that was selling out
on ebay once. I happened to be where he was so I visited him and saw them
on the shelf.

There might be a couple places in PA that have them. I'd try Jay at Yankee Trading in Easton and Restoration Specialties in Windber.

Just for the fun of it, you might try a good auto body supply house - the places that sell the paints, Bondo, vinyl tapes, etc. They usually have a myriad of little plastic clips for attaching trim and moldings. I don't know if they would still have that style or not. I recall finding some there a few years ago and they were actually labelled as VW molding clips.

Good luck.
