I have recently purchased a beautiful 79 264GL. I must say it is my first Volvo and it won't be my last. I purchased the car for $200 and replaced the B27F engine. I'm happy to say it is up and running and under going some much needed TLC.

Anyways, I want to know if there is a AIR SHOCK KIT that can be installed on this model. I have seen other models of similar year in the junk yard and I noticed that they had a compressor and what appeared to be an Air Shock Control Panel. Of course they were all striped of the air shocks and lines. This would be a cool and functional option to have on my brick and would be willing to spend the time if there is such a thing.

My '80 245diesel has the air shock kit. It's kind of neat having the control on the dash.
If you can scavange the compressor and switches, you should be able to find some new air shocks to fit.
If you can't find a listing, take out one of your old shocks and measure it extended and compressed, and the eye size and take that info to a good shock supplier ( along with the weight of the car )and they should be able to match you up a set of air shocks and lines to fit it.( they match up shocks for custom vehicles this way all the time )

There was a factory or dealer air shock accessory available for some brick models - I've seen a Volvo-labeled control panel for sale on ebay.

discusses air spring use in 245 wagons. It might give you some references to manufacturers whose air springs might fit on your 264.

I had an air spring kit on a Saaab 900T, including an onboard compressor (the little ones are cheap now at mainline auto parts stores) and it was a wonderful accessory for when the whole family loaded up for a trip to the mountains.
