I know Volvos are great cars, but what about Hondas? 200

My dad is thinking about buying me a Honda for my 19th birthday (I will still hold on to my 86 brick). Would love to hear your opinion regarding Hondas?

I was thinking a diesel would be good, preferably a biodiesel car...so you can use chicken frying oil.....

I think the best car for you would be a ... YUGO or perhaps it should be spelled YouGo! I'm with Chris on this too, we've had it with you TIPPI.

Why don't you "troll" around the honda sites and leave us to helping real people with VOLVO problems.

I suppose the next time you come around you'll be "Ivory" or maybe "Ivori"

Honda? Wasn't that a John Wayne movie? I remember it being pretty good.

Mayby it is the owner's, but I have had 2-VOLVOS, and never have I had any problem with breakdown.
Hondas sux,let me say that again,Honda, sux.Any car you get will brake down.(SONNER OR LATER)*
The cash for a honda, could be used to repair/rebuild the VOLVO.I am happy to here that the VOLVO is not leaving.

I'm with Chris - Buy one....and be gone! 200

Maybe Hondas have a transmission and you can have your new Honda "be my shiny new car"! Then you can rehash all the crap that you did last time and maybe THEY (the Honda board) will tolerate your crap.

Somethin' 'bout a cup of coffee and a chicken dinner just popped into my mind.......

Stormie - 1988 240DL with 423,000 miles AND a Transmission. And yes, Jaki / Tippi / Ebonie I do have anger issues. God Bless!!!

The word 'titanic' comes to mind. 200

I'm pretty impressed, since you've already had a new 98 Explorer and an 01 Jetta. I guess they must be letting people lease Explorers at 13 years old out there on the left coast. Not bad. What's the driving age, 12? (the LEGAL driving age, I mean. I know the de facto driving age is around 10 or so).

Well, whatever... I've been 19 for the last ten years too. Don't worry... it isn't age that matters, it's beauty. Never let anyone tell you differently.

Oh yeah... I would HIGHLY recommend a Honda. An Accord, a Civic, an Oddball, or any other piece that they make. Buy new, and find a Honda owners message board that you can pick for information. Volvo is not the car for you... they're hardly trouble-free. Actually, you'll probably have a hard time finding a Honda owners support group, because basically, they don't need much support. Everything bolted to a Volvo powertrain usually dies a few times over the course of the car's life. With a Honda, you can say goodbye to those problems.

But remember how many times you've said "I love my Volvo"! Has the allure of your brick worn off already?

Just think, a brand new Accord. You'd love it. Get it dolled up with a sunroof and leather and a transmission.

A nice car like that needs a personalized plate.

'TIPPI'

(I don't know if MS GARCIA would fit on a California tag or not).

You'll love your new Honda.

I wouldn't be surprised if your 86 Volvo is a lot more amenable to a do-it-yourselfer's efforts. That other brand you mention is also a very well built car.

We don't talk too much about Hondas here. I am sure there is a very fine web site out there for Hondas.
