Kickdown Cable 900

I just bought a second '93 945T. The car is fantastic -- just like the first one. But the transmission needed some adjustment (it didn't want to "kickdown") I read the FAQ and tigheted the cable. I got the desired affect, but there is slack in the cable at idle. Is this OK?

Thanks in advance.

The cable shouldn't be completely slack. It should be adjusted a little tighter.
Check for the #1 turbo problem - holes in the turbo hoses. Air leaks like this often make the transmission appear to be the problem because you have to open the throttle more, and that makes the transmission shift differently.

I thought the same thing. So I removed and cleaned all the turbo hoses today -- and everything is fine. But that brings up another issue I've noticed. On the other 945T, when I stomp on the gas, the turbo guage shoots up to full boost immediately. On the new 945T, the boost comes up gradually -- takes about 3 seconds to get to full boost.

Any thoughts?

Again, thanks in advance.
