Temp compensation board question 200 1993

I took out the temp guage to get better access to the pins when sodering. I took it apart again after it didn't work and checked everything. The wires are sodered on really good. I put it back in and it still does not work. I guess I can just put in the old temp compesation board. How hard is it to run a aftermarket temp guage?

After owning 3 240's, Volvo really irratates me on how they never fix problems over the years. They just keep on putting in the same junk guages either speedometer or engine guages, crappy relays, crappy fuse panel (how hard would it have been to put in a pull type fuse panel that wouldn't corrode?) same yellowing headlights, same brake light systems that needs adjusted so you don't have a bulb failure every month. This is the last year they made this car, and after owning a 80 242 and a 88 240 and my brothers 90 240 and my cousins 91 240 it still has the same problems as the one I owned that was made 13 years ago. I love driving my wagon when it is working but I feel a Honda coming on very, very soon.
