chirping from front suspension 120-130

Every time I go over rough spots in the road I hear a chirpping noise from the front end.

I've recently replaced all four bushings.

I'm thinking ball joints? Upper? Lower? both?

What else could it be?

Thanks in advance,

Are the bushings you replaced polyurethane..?? If they are, they need to be grased. Make sure it is a grease that is compatible with the poly bushings.

It's also worth checking if the little ball joints on the throttle linkage have been greased in living memory. They can chirp impressively on rough roads.

If you have lots of sp[are time you might try taking the front shocks out and driving it around for a little drive (short and slow!) to see if the squeek is related to them. Squeeky lower ball joints usually make the steering stiff, they are a little hard to check as the spring tension usually covers any slop or slack. Jack up the wheel on the lower a arm close to the outside edge (so the suspension doesn't top out on the upper bump stop when the wheel is off the ground) and wiggle the wheel top and bottom checking for any sort of slack. Upper ball joints will usually not make the suspension stiff as they are not supporting any weight and really aren't under much strain at all. It's probably not worth trying to fit some grease into a squeky ball joint, by the time they complain like that they really just need to be replaced. They way they bolt onto a 122's arms makes replacing them not a terribly difficult ordeal.
