heater/ac blower stopped 700

My daughter was driving our '90 740 gle wagon home from work the other day and the interior fan motor stopped - dead. I searched the archives but could not find any info. I pulled the fuses and they checked out to be fine. I pulled out the switch and with my meter it shows that it is functioning on all settings. Then I checked the plug to the switch and with the key on it shows power at all the plug ins. I thought that like the 240's when the fan motor goes it makes noise long before it kicks the bucket.... has anyone had this problem.
Second question, I have not been able to find a good 740 manual for repairs, is the fan motor located behind the glove box - back corner of the passenger footwell?
Any advice greatly appreciated.
Nds

Fan motor is up under the passenger kickpanel: remove the panel and you will see it. Check the resistor pack that controls the speed of the motor: you may find that defective, or you may find the motor gone. The resistor pack is to the left of the motor about three inches.
