Stuck Door Lock - Right Rear 200 1981

The lock knob is stuck in the locked position and won't move. The other doors will lock/unlock with the power locks (operated from the driver's door knob or key), but when doing so, you can feel no sign of any activation/vibration at the RR door lock knob. Any ideas? With it locked and closed, I can't open the door to get the inner panel off and see what's wrong in there.

Try removing the opposite door panel to examine mechanism and how it works. With a coat hanger or "slim jim" practice hooking the part which will release the lock. Then do same on locked door.

The lock actuator gets glopped up over the years, my RF just did the same.

In my case, I was able to make it move by pulling up on the driver's lock knob and the RF knob at the same time. The RD knob was moveable that way only.

In your case, unless you can stretch and reach the driver's door lock and the RR knob, get a helper to work the driver's door.

Getting the trim panel off with the door shut will mean damaging/demolishing the trim panel. You might find a match in a boneyard. Check the trim code on the RF inner fender label. Two digit number.

Good Luck,

Bob

I think the mechanism is released inside the door or stuck in a way.

Probably you will have to remove your back seat as emergency tric to remove your door panel witout damage

once the panel removed it is very simple and straigtforward
