Which years had Fog lights? 900

I'm currently looking for a 900 series upgrade for my '86 740 GLE.
However, the 940's that I see around have a different front end light assembly and I see none with the fog lights that my 740 GLE has.

Does anyone know if the 940 SE or Turbos have fog lights? If yes, which years?
Does anyone know if the 960s or S90 series have fog lights?

Thanks

Which years had Fog lights? 900

As mentioned, Volvo started out giving the '87- 760 and early 940s a combined head/fog lamp assembly. It was not very effective. The models so equipped gradually petered out, and the final year or two of the 940, they didn't give ANY of the car foglights.

Optional under-bumper fogs for the late-7 and 9 series are available from Volvo. They are a pretty nice design, and come with fairings to blend them into the unique curved surface of the lower bumper/air dam. Pricey, though.

I added the under-the-bumper Volvo fogs to my 94 945. Pretty easy installation and they come with the wiring connectors that just plug into the foglight wiring harness taped off besides the headlights. They also came with a new fog light switch (just plugs in with no modifications). I was told they are no longer available new from Volvo across the counter but I found the part number and tracked an NOS set down online. Paid $90 I think. If any wants a pic let me know.

All 960's have fogs as OEM equipment. Before 95 they were integrated into the headlight assembly. The bulbs are miniscule and ineffective for the most part. I believe with the 95, the fogs were dropped to the airdam, at least somewhere along the line the lamps were put there and the bulbs became H3s. The bulbs are much better, but of course fogs don't belong under the bumper. They belong on the bumper, like the 92-94s, but with the H3 bulb or greater. The former, are adjustable, but I think the latter (dam-mounted) are not.

as far as i know (and have seen)
the foglights on the 940's where next to the headlights

if you want fog / driving lights under the bumper
you'll prolly have to install them yourself.

and as far as i know all years came with the option
i guess it just depends on if the person who bought it
in the first place opted for it. i think the turbo's and SE's
came with them standard

Nope. My '95 945T doesn't have fogs. I think as production headed towards the end of the 940s in the 90s, Volvo was just using the mix and match philosophy. No set standard of if it is turbo then it has a sunroof, or alloys. Mine has leather seats, a roof rack, and CD player, but steel wheels, no fogs, and no sunroof.

Who knows why :-)
