bushings and vibration 700

Lately, my car has been vibrating more at higher speeds. Also, going over speed bumps, a clunking noise comes from the front but not the back. I took a look under at the steering arms and noticed that the bushings are cracked and just old looking. Will replacing these fix the problem or am I looking at new shocks and springs?

I replaced the bushings on my '83 244Ti.. what a difference... clunking noises gone, the car felt tighter. Before I did them, it felt like the back of the car was shifting sideways under load.... as if the motor torque was being transferred through to the body via the rear axle. Once I did the bushings the condition went away.

good question. I just ordered control arm bushings. My car does the same thing only worse I'm guessing. There was a lot of play around these bushings. Local mechanic said it was probably the problem. We'll see.
