Does anyone know where to get the black things to fit under the headlights on an 84ish 240? They cover up or replace thhe white reflectors that are there normally. They look like the one's in this picture:

if you're mean these

They just pop out of the earlier 4 lamp sytem car's headlight doors. There are a couple of pegs that go through the chrome and are held in with metal clips. If the pins break off hold them on with a bit of JB Weld.

interesting fact:

I've only had one car with the black bits. But while the reflectors are removeable, the black bits are fused to the headlight doors.

Therefore, you would need a pair of complete doors.

I was too busy looking at the Ford 5.0 in that car while at the mt. dora meet to even notice thatit had the reflector inserts , hmmm interesting(and very fast)

Why don't you just wet sand with 400 grit and spray them with a flat black? It's cheeper and also looks pretty good.

I've noticed them very frequently in junkyards, on earlier years of the 80-85 headlight style DL's. They're pretty easy to find I think because most people tend to prefer the whitish clear reflectors for added visibility while parked at night.
Your dealer might be able to get you some new ones. But your wallet might not like it.
