alternator questions 200

It's surprising to see that much wear on slip rings with only 130k. I replaced the brushes in my '82 at around 175k, and the car died a rusty death at about 350k --- but the alternator was still going strong.

And I just replaced the brushes in my '90 at 200k --- visually, the grooves looked to be 1/16" deep or less.
