On my son's 92 740 turbo wagon the radiator cooling fan continues to run. If left alone it will run until the battery dies. Is it a bad relay or thermostat? If so how can I trouble shoot & where are they located on the car?

It could be either a bad realy or a bad thermostat. Try upluggin the wiring from the thermostat. If the fan keeps running, the relay is bad. If the fan quits, the thermostat is bad.

The thermostat is mounted in the radiator. The thermostat will be the only device in the radiator with wires connecting to it. Follow the wires to the relay and fan.
