I have several parts for a 73 144 but wondering what, if any are glaringly the same as compared to a 71 142...any of you wise 140 guru's know? are the doors different in size? trunk? hood? ..??Thanx in advance for any info..L1800's

Hate to sound disagreeable with previous posts but even if the difference
in years doesn't matter, 142 doors are much longer than 144 doors. Some
of the hardware in the door will work but the door and glass will not, and
it is virtually impossible to cut tempered glass without blowing it up.
Also if your 71 has the old style door handles (that stick out) the flush
door handles are not interchangeable.
The best way to tell on the hood and trunk is to take some measurements and
check latch and mounting points for similarity/difference.

damnit, sorry guys, I failed to realize in my "hyperness" that you said 144, and like george said, the doors will not fit.

Doors are the same size and can be swapped straight accross, if i remember correctly. Almost everything is the same too, well, pretty much. Your dash is different i think, and as such, some of the stuff under/behind it is different(um, heater/ventilation system to name one). Not sure what else is different, but let us know what exactly you were wondering, and we'll tell you how much of a simple swap it is. PEACE! (and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!) Oh, and the trunk and hood are the same too.
