Front Defrost doesn't work... 200 1992

Does anyone have any suggestions on why the defrost button no longer directs air to the windshield vents in my 92 244? Is this a difficult thing to fix?
Thanks

I had the same problem last winter. A quick, temporary(?) fix is to simply zip-tie the vacuum actuators into the defrost position. It was very cold when I needed to fix the problem, and it was a lot faster to just put on the zip ties than I expected it would be to search for and fix a vacuum leak.

If I have the heat on, I want the defroster on, so I just left my sedan with the zip ties in place.

Good luck and stay warm,
Keith

Look for a small vacuum hose that comes through the firewall near the A/C hoses and runs up to the center of the intake on the top side. Notorious for splitting where the hose attaches to a small metal tube at the check valve.

Would you belive a vacuum leak! Check the lines and make sure that one has not come loose or split.
