clutch rises slow 89 744 ti 700

hi all.
recently while driving my 89 740ti with an m46 transmission i have noticed that sometimes the clutch is slow to bring it self back to the up position. is this common? ive seen nothing in the faq about it. it dosent have any noticable effect on shifting or driving is there an ajustment that i can make? or is a trip to the transmission shop the answer?
thanks in advance
brian

You should have the slave cylinder checked. That's just the thing that pushed the clutch back up after you push it down. It might be loose or dying or something.

i may be asking alot now but where is the slave cylinder located?is it something that i can look at myself? $$$$$ for a mechanic is hard to come by these days and i just laid out $512 for a new alternator and battery last week
thanks

I believe there is a return spring on the clutch pedal, if that's OK you could have any number of problems: weak pressure plate, throw out bearing binding on the bearing retainer, hydraulic issues, fork problems, etc.
Is it better when warm? When was clutch fluid changed, could be contaminated with moisture(trying to freeze or just gummy?)
